AB Night Vision RNVG-A / ARNVG Articulating Night Vision Housing
HOUSING KIT ONLY — IMAGE INTENSIFIER TUBES ARE NOT INCLUDED. Available as housing only or housing with your selected optics.
The AB Night Vision RNVG-A, also known as the ARNVG (Articulating Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle), is a rugged articulating binocular night vision housing machined from 7075 aluminum.
Designed for demanding professional and recreational use, the RNVG-A combines durable aluminum construction with articulation, individual pod shutoff, onboard infrared illumination, external power capability, and broad optical adjustment.
Rugged 7075 Aluminum Construction
The RNVG-A housing is billet machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and designed to withstand demanding field conditions. AB Night Vision subjected the housing to drop testing exceeding MIL-STD-810H requirements.
The housing is available in Flat Black and Flat Dark Earth. Components receive a matte, non-reflective finish, with the FDE version using Cerakote over the anodized aluminum.
Articulating Pods
Each optical pod can articulate independently, allowing one or both pods to be moved out of the user's field of view when needed.
The pods automatically shut off when articulated upward. When helmet mounted and stowed, the pods can fold closer to the helmet to reduce profile and help protect the system from overhead impacts.
Pod articulation tension is user adjustable.
Power & Controls
The RNVG-A uses simple push-button controls for system power and the onboard infrared illuminator. The IR control is guarded to reduce accidental activation, while visual indicators alert the user to IR activation and low battery status.
Power is supplied by an onboard CR123 battery or through an external battery pack using the integrated 4-pin LEMO-style power port.
Optical Adjustment
When configured with compatible mil-spec optics, the RNVG-A provides adjustable objective focus and diopter control along with a wide interpupillary adjustment range.
The articulating design allows users to position the optical pods for a comfortable fit across a broad range of users and helmet configurations.
