SMS Trinity
The SMS Trinity is a compact, full-featured visible and infrared laser aiming module built around a powerful VCSEL infrared illuminator, coaxial laser architecture, and a rugged 7075 aluminum housing.
The Trinity combines a 520nm visible laser, 850nm infrared aiming laser, and 850nm VCSEL infrared illuminator into a single compact system. Its coaxial design keeps the visible laser, IR laser, and IR illuminator aligned together, eliminating the need to independently calibrate the illuminator to the aiming lasers.
With an adjustable IR illuminator, selectable output, integrated flood capability, and a compact 6.7 oz housing, the Trinity delivers a highly capable night vision laser and illumination package without the size and weight of many traditional laser aiming modules.

VCSEL Infrared Illuminator
At the center of the Trinity is its 100mW 850nm VCSEL infrared illuminator.
VCSEL technology provides a cleaner and more uniform illumination pattern than traditional edge-emitting laser (EEL) illuminators, giving the user a more usable field of infrared illumination when operating under night vision.
The illuminator also provides variable beam divergence from approximately 25 mrad to 165 mrad, allowing the beam to be adjusted from a tighter illumination pattern to a substantially wider field depending on the environment and application.
Coaxial Laser & Illuminator Architecture
The Trinity's visible laser, infrared aiming laser, and infrared illuminator are coaxial.
This architecture keeps the aiming and illumination systems mechanically aligned rather than requiring the IR illuminator to be independently calibrated from the aiming lasers.
The result is a simplified setup with the aiming laser and illuminator working together as an integrated optical system.
Visible & Infrared Aiming Lasers
The Trinity incorporates both a 520nm visible green laser and an 850nm infrared aiming laser.
The visible laser provides a daytime-visible aiming and zeroing reference, while the infrared laser provides the aiming point when operating under night vision.
The system uses 0.8 MOA adjustments per click for windage and elevation.
Adjustable IR Illumination
The Trinity gives the user control over the infrared illumination pattern rather than locking the system into a single beam width.
- Narrow Beam: Concentrates IR illumination into a tighter area
- Wide Beam: Expands illumination across a larger field of view
- Flood Lens: Provides additional wide-area illumination when required
The adjustable illumination system allows the Trinity to be configured around the environment instead of forcing the user to work around a fixed illuminator.
Selectable Output
The Trinity provides adjustable output settings for different operating conditions. This allows the user to balance aiming-laser and illuminator output to reduce excessive bloom or halo under night vision while still providing the required amount of infrared illumination.
Built for Hard Use
The Trinity is built around a 7075 aluminum housing and weighs approximately 6.7 oz.
The unit carries an IPX8 waterproof rating and is rated for 1200G vibration.
Black models feature an anodized finish, while FDE models use a Cerakote finish.

Arrived super quick! This sms trinity unit is far nicer than i anticipated. Its built well and the fde amd black look awesome. It did come with its own crane plug but i decided to use a unity modbutton lite crane plug which i can confirm works. Havent tested it yet to see if it shifts from zero (which is really the only complaint i have read that people have had with these which arent alot of people at that) but i will have to see for myself. The IR works and the sliding IR focus toggle is nice touch. Will come back and re rate after putting some rounds through if it holds zero id say its definitely worth it for being less than 500$ if it holds i will definitely be getting more as well as going through quad defense to do it 🤙🏾
