Noctis | PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular

Noctis PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular

The Noctis PVS-14 is the proven standard by which modern night vision monoculars are measured. Widely fielded by the U.S. military and allied forces, the PVS-14 has earned its reputation through decades of service, reliability, and broad compatibility with the night vision ecosystem.

Its compact monocular design allows the user to retain natural night-adapted vision in one eye while viewing the enhanced image through the other. The PVS-14 can be helmet mounted, head mounted, handheld, or integrated into a wide range of accessory and mounting configurations.

With manual gain control, an onboard IR illuminator, long AA battery runtime, and a massive support ecosystem, the PVS-14 remains one of the most versatile night vision platforms available.

Every custom PVS-14 system purchased from Quad Defense is professionally assembled, purged, tested, and verified before shipment and is backed by the QDEF 5-Year Warranty.

Configure Your PVS-14

Important: The base price does not include an image intensifier tube. Your final system price is determined by the image intensifier, optics, and available configuration options selected above.

QDEF offers multiple image intensifier performance levels and optical packages, allowing the PVS-14 to be configured around your performance requirements, weight goals, and budget.

All image intensifiers used in QDEF custom builds are hand-selected. If you have specific requirements for SNR, EBI, halo, cosmetics, or other tube specifications, contact us before ordering and we'll help determine current availability.

Why Choose the PVS-14?

• Proven military-standard monocular platform
• Manual gain control for user-adjustable image brightness
• Integrated IR illuminator
• IR activation indicator
• Low-battery indicator
• Single AA battery power with 50+ hours of runtime
• 40° field of view with standard optics
• 1× magnification
• Wide accessory and mounting compatibility
• Helmet, head-mount, and handheld capable
• Submersible construction
• Extensive PVS-14 support ecosystem

---

Manual Gain Control

The PVS-14 incorporates manual gain control, allowing the user to adjust image brightness directly from the monocular.

This provides additional control in changing ambient lighting conditions and allows the image output to be tuned to the user's preference.

If you're unsure which image intensifier configuration is appropriate for your PVS-14 build, contact QDEF before ordering and we'll help verify compatibility and current availability.

---

Integrated IR Illuminator

The PVS-14 includes a built-in infrared illuminator for short-range tasks when ambient light is insufficient.

An indicator within the viewing area notifies the user when the IR illuminator is active, helping prevent unintended IR emission.

The system also includes a low-battery indicator to provide warning as the onboard battery approaches depletion.

---

Power & Runtime

The PVS-14 operates from a single AA battery and provides approximately 50+ hours of runtime when used with a quality lithium AA battery.

The use of a common AA power source makes the PVS-14 easy to support in the field and contributes to its reputation as a dependable general-purpose night vision system.

---

Proven PVS-14 Platform

One of the greatest advantages of the PVS-14 is the maturity of the platform. It has been produced and fielded in large numbers and is supported by an extensive ecosystem of mounts, J-arms, optics, accessories, replacement parts, and service components.

Its monocular configuration also allows the user to retain natural vision in the unaided eye while using night vision in the other, making it a flexible platform for a wide range of applications.

---

Optics Options

The PVS-14 can be configured with multiple optical packages depending on your priorities for weight, optical performance, durability, and budget.

• MBS ULR — An ultralight optical package designed to minimize overall system weight.
• Mil-Spec — Traditional mil-spec PVS-14 pattern optics using Carson-pattern glass supplied by Noctis Technologies or Night Vision Devices (NVD), depending on current availability. This option provides proven mil-spec optical performance, durability, and broad compatibility.
• RPO 4.0 — Premium lightweight optics designed to significantly reduce overall system weight while maintaining excellent optical performance.

Not sure which optics are right for your build? Contact QDEF and we'll help you compare the options based on system weight, performance, application, and budget.

QDEF Build Process

A custom PVS-14 ordered through Quad Defense is built as a complete night vision system—not simply assembled from selected parts and shipped.

Each QDEF custom build is professionally assembled, inspected, purged, tested, and verified before it leaves our bench. The complete monocular is evaluated for proper function and overall system performance before shipment.

Current lead time for custom QDEF night vision builds is approximately 6–8 business days once all required components are in stock. Special-order components or specific image intensifier requirements may extend that timeline.

---

Warranty

Complete QDEF-built night vision systems are backed by the Quad Defense 5-Year Warranty.

The PVS-14 housing and individual components may also carry applicable manufacturer warranties. Manufacturer warranty terms and coverage are determined by the respective manufacturer.

---

Shipping

All night vision systems ship free via 2-Day Air. Night vision shipments are fully insured and require a signature at delivery.
