The Low Light Innovations MH-14 is a lightweight, manual-gain night vision monocular built around LLI's modular MH ecosystem. It combines magnesium and 7075-T6 aluminum construction with manual gain control, dual integrated IR illumination, AA battery power, and compatibility with standard PVS-14 mounting hardware.
In its lightest fully built configuration, the MH-14 weighs approximately 8.6 oz, providing a lightweight monocular platform without sacrificing manual gain or future system expandability.
The MH-14 integrates with the Low Light Innovations MH modular ecosystem, providing a path from a standalone monocular to a dual-tube night vision configuration using compatible MH components.
Every custom MH-14 system built by Quad Defense is professionally assembled, purged, tested, and verified before shipment and backed by the QDEF 5-Year Warranty.

Manual Gain Control
The MH-14 supports manual gain control when configured with compatible MX-11769 or 3-pad image intensifiers, allowing the user to adjust image brightness directly from the monocular as ambient lighting conditions change.

Dual IR Illuminators
The MH-14 incorporates two onboard infrared illumination modes designed for different working distances.
- Low-Power IR β Designed for close-range tasks such as map reading, equipment setup, and administrative work.
- High-Power Spot IR β Provides a more concentrated beam for illumination at increased distance.
The dual-illuminator design provides additional onboard illumination flexibility compared with a traditional single-illuminator monocular.
Power & Runtime
The MH-14 operates from a single AA battery and provides approximately 50+ hours of runtime under typical operating conditions.
Using a common AA power source simplifies battery logistics while providing extended operating time from a single battery.
MH Modular Ecosystem
One of the MH-14's key advantages is its integration with Low Light Innovations' MH modular ecosystem.
The MH-14 operates as a standalone monocular while retaining compatibility with MH components that allow the platform to be expanded into a dual-tube configuration. This provides a path from a single-tube monocular to a binocular night vision system without abandoning the MH platform.
Housing Construction
The MH-14 is constructed from a combination of magnesium alloy and 7075-T6 aluminum, providing a strong, lightweight platform for demanding field use.
Depending on the selected image intensifier, optics, and configuration, a complete MH-14 can weigh as little as approximately 8.6 oz.
Optics Options
The MH-14 can be configured with multiple optical packages depending on your priorities for weight, optical performance, durability, and budget.
- MBS ULR β An ultralight optical package designed to minimize overall system weight.
- Mil-Spec β Traditional PVS-14-pattern optics using Carson-pattern glass supplied by Noctis Technologies or Night Vision Devices (NVD), depending on current availability.
- RPO 4.0 β Premium lightweight optics designed to significantly reduce overall system weight while maintaining excellent optical performance.

Mounting Compatibility
The MH-14 is compatible with standard PVS-14 J-arms, allowing integration with the broad ecosystem of PVS-14 helmet mounting hardware.
QDEF Build Process
A custom MH-14 ordered through Quad Defense is built as a complete night vision system. Each QDEF custom build is professionally assembled, inspected, purged, tested, and verified before it leaves our bench.
Current lead time for custom QDEF night vision builds is approximately 6β8 business days once all required components are in stock. Special-order components or specific image intensifier requirements may extend that timeline.
Warranty
Complete QDEF-built night vision systems are backed by the Quad Defense 5-Year Warranty.
The Low Light Innovations MH-14 housing also carries LLI's applicable manufacturer warranty. Manufacturer warranty terms and coverage are determined by Low Light Innovations.
Shipping
All night vision systems ship free via 2-Day Air. Night vision shipments are fully insured and require a signature at delivery.
