L3Harris GPNVG-18 Ground Panoramic Night Vision Goggle
The L3Harris GPNVG-18 Ground Panoramic Night Vision Goggle is a four-tube panoramic night vision system designed to provide substantially greater situational awareness than traditional monocular and binocular night vision systems.
Originally developed by L3Harris in conjunction with U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), the GPNVG-18 uses four image intensifiers and a panoramic optical architecture to provide an approximately 97° field of view, compared with the approximately 40° field of view associated with traditional night vision systems.
The system combines its panoramic field of view with L3Harris unfilmed white phosphor image intensifiers, a rugged fixed-bridge housing, detachable optical pods, external battery power, and a dovetail helmet-mount interface.

97° Panoramic Field of View
The defining feature of the GPNVG-18 is its approximately 97° panoramic field of view. Four optical channels are arranged across the user's field of view, substantially increasing peripheral visibility compared with traditional 40° monocular and binocular night vision systems.
The central channels provide the primary forward image while the outer channels extend peripheral visibility, reducing the amount of head movement required when scanning the surrounding environment.
L3Harris Unfilmed White Phosphor
The GPNVG-18 is equipped with L3Harris unfilmed white phosphor, autogated image intensifiers with a factory minimum rating of 2376 FOM.
L3Harris unfilmed technology provides high-performance low-light capability, resolution, and image quality across demanding lighting environments.
With four image intensifiers operating together, consistency between the optical channels is particularly important to the overall panoramic viewing experience.

Factory cosmetic specifications permit certain cosmetic characteristics within defined areas of the image. Individual system cosmetics may therefore vary while remaining within the applicable L3Harris factory specification.
Detachable Optical Pods
The GPNVG-18 uses a fixed bridge with independently detachable optical pods. An optical pod can be removed from the primary bridge and operated independently using the appropriate battery power adapter.
Because each pod incorporates multiple optical channels, a detached pod retains a wider viewing area than a conventional single-channel night vision monocular.
External Power
The GPNVG-18 utilizes an external battery-pack power architecture, moving battery weight away from the front of the helmet while supporting extended operation.
The system can be powered using its compatible external battery pack, with power supplied directly to the GPNVG-18 housing through the system's power cable.
Helmet Integration
The GPNVG-18 incorporates a dovetail mounting interface for integration with compatible helmet-mounted night vision hardware.
When paired with an appropriate dovetail mount, the GPNVG-18 can be integrated into a properly configured night vision helmet system along with its external battery pack.

What Is ITAR?

Night vision products and related equipment may be subject to U.S. export-control restrictions depending on their classification, configuration, technical characteristics, origin, and intended destination or end user.
Some products may fall under ITAR jurisdiction while others may be controlled under the Export Administration Regulations or another regulatory framework.
The absence of an “ITAR” label on a product page should not be interpreted as confirmation that the product is unrestricted for international transfer.
Who May Receive Controlled Items?
Export-control rules can restrict who may receive certain products, technical data, or defense services.
ITAR distinguishes between U.S. persons and foreign persons. The applicable regulatory definitions should be used when determining whether a particular transfer or release requires authorization.
