Aeon ANVG Manual Gain Articulating Night Vision Binocular
The Aeon ANVG is a feature-rich articulating dual-tube night vision binocular housing designed for custom builds that prioritize capability, flexibility, and value.
The ANVG combines manual gain control, articulating pods, independent pod shutoff, an integrated dual-focus IR illuminator, IPD stops, onboard battery power, external power capability, and automatic stow shutoff in a lightweight binocular platform.
Every custom ANVG system purchased from Quad Defense is professionally assembled, purged, tested, and verified before shipment and is backed by the QDEF 5-Year Warranty.
Configure Your ANVG
Important: The base price does not include image intensifier tubes. Your final system price is determined by the image intensifiers, optics, and available configuration options selected above.
QDEF offers multiple image intensifier performance levels and optical packages, allowing the ANVG to be configured around your performance requirements, weight goals, and budget.
All image intensifiers used in QDEF custom builds are hand-selected. If you have specific requirements for SNR, EBI, halo, cosmetics, or other tube specifications, contact us before ordering and we'll help determine current availability.
Why Choose the ANVG?
- Manual gain control for user-adjustable image brightness
- Articulating binocular platform with independent pod movement
- Individual pod shutoff when articulated upward
- Automatic stow shutoff when the system is flipped up on the helmet
- Dual-focus IR illuminator with selectable flood and spot modes
- Integrated IR status indicator
- Low-battery indicator
- IPD stops for repeatable interpupillary positioning
- Onboard CR123A power
- External power capability via Fischer-style connection
- MX-11769 and MX-10160 compatible
- PVS-14 compatible optics
Manual Gain & Image Intensifier Compatibility
The ANVG supports both MX-11769 and MX-10160 image intensifier formats, giving builders flexibility when selecting tubes for performance, availability, and budget.
When configured with compatible manual-gain image intensifiers, the user can adjust image brightness directly from the housing using the integrated gain control.
If you're unsure which image intensifier configuration is appropriate for your ANVG build, contact QDEF before ordering and we'll help verify compatibility and current availability.
Dual-Focus IR Illuminator
The ANVG includes an integrated dual-focus infrared illuminator with selectable Flood and Spot modes.
The illuminator is controlled through the rotary gain control and provides additional short-range IR illumination when supplemental light is needed. An integrated status indicator notifies the user when the illuminator is active.
Power & Auto-Stow
The ANVG operates from a single CR123A battery and also supports external power through a Fischer-style connector.
The housing includes an automatic stow function that cuts power when the system is flipped upward on a helmet mount and restores power when the system is returned to the deployed position.
Approximate onboard runtime is 25 hours, depending on system configuration, battery condition, and use of onboard features.
Optics Options
The ANVG uses PVS-14 compatible objective and eyepiece assemblies and can be configured with multiple optical packages depending on your priorities for weight, optical performance, durability, and budget.
- MBS ULR — An ultralight optical package designed to minimize overall system weight.
- Mil-Spec — Traditional mil-spec PVS-14 pattern optics using Carson-pattern glass supplied by Noctis Technologies or Night Vision Devices (NVD), depending on current availability. This option provides proven mil-spec optical performance, durability, and broad compatibility.
- RPO 4.0 — Premium lightweight optics designed to significantly reduce overall system weight while maintaining excellent optical performance.
Not sure which optics are right for your build? Contact QDEF and we'll help you compare the options based on system weight, performance, application, and budget.

QDEF Build Process
A custom ANVG ordered through Quad Defense is built as a complete night vision system—not simply assembled from selected parts and shipped.
Each QDEF custom build is professionally assembled, inspected, purged, tested, and verified before it leaves our bench. Binocular systems are also evaluated as a complete system with attention paid to image intensifier pairing and overall system performance.
Current lead time for custom QDEF night vision builds is approximately 6–8 business days once all required components are in stock. Special-order components or specific image intensifier requirements may extend that timeline.
Warranty
Complete QDEF-built night vision systems are backed by the Quad Defense 5-Year Warranty.
The Aeon ANVG housing also carries a 5-year housing warranty that includes accidental damage coverage. Manufacturer warranty terms and coverage are determined by Aeon.
Shipping
All night vision systems ship free via 2-Day Air. Night vision shipments are fully insured and require a signature at delivery.
