AB Night Vision RVM-14
The AB Night Vision RVM-14 is a ruggedized manual-gain night vision monocular built around a billet-machined 7075-T6 aluminum housing. It takes the proven functionality and broad compatibility of the PVS-14 platform and packages it into a more rugged, modern monocular architecture.
The RVM-14 combines manual gain control, onboard IR illumination, CR123A power, standard PVS-14 mounting compatibility, and an integrated dovetail interface that allows two RVM-14s to be bridged together into a binocular configuration.
Despite its aluminum construction, the RVM-14 is designed to remain lightweight while providing the durability expected from AB Night Vision's ruggedized housing platforms.

Important: The base price does not include an image intensifier tube. Your final system price is determined by the image intensifier, optics, and available configuration options selected above.
QDEF offers multiple image intensifier performance levels and optical packages, allowing the RVM-14 to be configured around your performance requirements, weight goals, and budget.

Manual Gain Control
The RVM-14 features a straightforward rotary control that combines system power and manual gain adjustment.
The control initially powers the device at maximum image brightness. Continuing to rotate the control allows the user to reduce image brightness when the system is configured with a compatible MX-11769 manual-gain image intensifier.
This provides direct control over image brightness while maintaining the simple control layout expected from a rugged field monocular.

Integrated IR Illuminator
The RVM-14 includes an onboard infrared illuminator activated through a dedicated push-button control on the front of the housing.
Similar to the AB Night Vision RNVG-A, the IR activation button is surrounded by a protective fence designed to reduce the likelihood of accidental activation.
An internal red LED provides a visual indication to the user when the IR illuminator is active.
Rugged 7075-T6 Aluminum Construction
Rather than using a traditional polymer monocular housing, the RVM-14 is billet machined from 7075-T6 aluminum for increased housing durability and resistance to hard field use.
The RVM-14 has been MIL-STD-810H drop tested and is waterproof to 66 feet, making durability one of the defining characteristics of the platform.
Standalone Mono or Bridged Binocular
The RVM-14 can be used as a traditional standalone monocular with standard PVS-14 mounting hardware, but the housing also incorporates a proprietary dovetail interface directly into the top of the unit.
This interface accepts the compatible RVM-14 bridge, allowing two RVM-14 monoculars to be combined into a binocular configuration.
That gives users the flexibility to operate each RVM-14 independently or combine two units when a dual-tube configuration is preferred.
Optics Options
The RVM-14 can be configured with multiple optical packages depending on your priorities for weight, optical performance, durability, and budget.
- MBS ULR — An ultralight optical package designed to minimize overall system weight.
- Mil-Spec — Traditional mil-spec PVS-14 pattern optics using Carson-pattern glass supplied by Noctis Technologies or Night Vision Devices (NVD), depending on current availability. This option provides proven mil-spec optical performance, durability, and broad compatibility.
- RPO 4.0 — Premium lightweight optics designed to significantly reduce overall system weight while maintaining excellent optical performance.

Mounting Compatibility
The RVM-14 accepts standard PVS-14 mounting hardware, providing compatibility with the broad ecosystem of PVS-14 J-arms and helmet mounting solutions.
The integrated RVM dovetail provides an additional mounting option specifically for combining two RVM-14 monoculars into a bridged binocular system.
QDEF Build Process
A custom RVM-14 ordered through Quad Defense is built as a complete night vision system—not simply assembled from selected parts and shipped.
Each QDEF custom build is professionally assembled, inspected, purged, tested, and verified before it leaves our bench. The complete monocular is evaluated for proper function and overall system performance before shipment.
Current lead time for custom QDEF night vision builds is approximately 6–8 business days once all required components are in stock. Special-order components or specific image intensifier requirements may extend that timeline.
Warranty
Complete QDEF-built night vision systems are backed by the Quad Defense 5-Year Warranty.
The AB Night Vision RVM-14 housing also carries AB Night Vision's applicable manufacturer warranty. Manufacturer warranty terms and coverage are determined by AB Night Vision.
Shipping
All night vision systems ship free via 2-Day Air. Night vision shipments are fully insured and require a signature at delivery.

The build quality and controls are light years ahead of traditional PVS-14 housings. It’s lighter, stronger, and has a phenomenal IR illuminator. The fact that it takes CR123 batteries is icing on the cake. It’s a very well thought out design.
